Association Cluster MEDGreen for Promoting Businesses Specialized in Ecotechnologies and Alternative Energy Sources
(South-East Region and Bucharest-Ilfov Region)

The Association is a Romanian juridical person, established under private law without patrimonial purpose, neguvernamentală, nongovernmental, apolitical and independent, which operates under Romanian Law, Romanian Government Ordinance no. 26/2000.

The purpose of Cluster MEDGreen is to facilitate and promote cooperation between enterprises, businesses research and educational institutions and other organizations, in order to contribute and support activities for the development of innovative products and services that are competitive both on the national and international markets, with high added value and to generate jobs and opportunities for the sustainable development of Medgidia City and the surrounding areas.

Objectives of the Association Cluster MEDGreen

The association acts to achieving the following objectives:

To support, promote and participate in policies, management and integrated competitive engineering development in the environmental technologies and alternative energy sources fields;
To promote and develop in a competitive way the following areas: research, education, innovation, production, marketing and environmental technologies and the efficient use of RES;
To promote innovative and sustainable technologies solutions and energy efficiency for the building construction, management and administration area, for construction materials area and for managing the materials flow;
To produce green energy, by harnessing the RES' potential, the existing waste collecting and processing technologies in order to value them by recycling and reducing the environmental impact;
Research, development and innovation in the Cluster’s interest fields;
To promote the concepts of sustainable development and green economy through policies and methods of spatial planning and regional development.
To increase the interaction between companies, academic institutions and other entities involved in the new, sustainable and eco-efficient technologies development, to support the use of renewable energy sources and the energy efficiency’s increase;
To encourage cooperation and to facilitate access to information as well as the creation of joint databases;
To support the development of companies in the field, new businesses set up and to attract new investment in the fields of interest;
To provide expertt advice and assistance to the members of the Association and for others interested;
To represent the interests of the Association’s members in accordance with the mandate given by them.

The development and implementation of projects financed with European and national funds, in order to develop and achieve cluster progress for the entities involved;
The promotion and development of public-private partnerships in the association’s areas of interest;
To ensure dissemination of information on technological progress and continuous professional training for the cluster’s members;
To conduct lobbying actions around governmental institutions in orfer for them to adopt the proper legislation for the fields where the cluster is active;
Support and promotion for the establishment of megaclusters (clusters of clusters) and networks of successful companies in the European Union;
Support and promotion of research activities and innovation for the economic agents in the area, facilitating the transfer of policies, management procedures and advanced technology.
